Each of these hotlines provide peer support to folx living in NYC and/or nationally, and are vetted by Don't Call The Police to ensure their policies do not authorize operators to call 911 without the caller's explicit, informed consent (this list is on-going):


provides vital peer support, community connections, and resource information through helplines and online chatrooms. Services focus on sexual orientation and/or gender identity and expression.

empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-affected communities and allies to end all forms of violence through organizing and education, and supports survivors through counseling and advocacy. Offers free, bilingual (English/Spanish), 24-hour, 365-day-a-year crisis intervention hotline is staffed by trained volunteers and professional counselor/advocates, offering support to LGBTQ & HIV-affected survivors of any type of violence, as well as to those who love and support survivors, including those who have lost a loved one to violence.

provides emotional support during and after psychedelic experiences. Psychedelic support does not include medical care, medical assessments, psychedelic therapy psychotherapy, or professional care.

provides a space for peer support, counseling, reporting of mistreatment, witnessing and affirming the lived experiences for folxs who are most impacted by systematic oppression with an LGBTQ+ Black Femme Lens. Call BlackLine® prioritizes BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color).

is a domestic and sexual violence helpline for Native Americans and Alaska Natives. StrongHearts has become a lifeline to Native American and Alaska Natives impacted by domestic and sexual violence by offering a culturally-appropriate, anonymous and confidential service available nationwide. By calling, texting, or chatting online, survivors, family, friends and partners questioning their own behavior can connect with StrongHearts advocates who provide support and advocacy including: crisis intervention, assistance with safety planning, domestic violence education and information, and referrals to Native-centered domestic violence and sexual violence service providers.

THRIVE Lifeline   (313) 662-8209.

is a text line for underrepresented individuals (person of color, LGBTQ2S+, person living with disabilities, neurodivergent, and/or other marginalized identities). THRIVE also moderates a discord server for Trans, Nonbinary, Agender, and Questioning people (13+) and co-hosts the Stronger Together discord server for multiply marginalized complex trauma survivors (open to all 18+). THRIVE is led by experienced crisis managers who are fed up with watching communities fall prey to systemic marginalization only to face dismissive, unsupportive, and sometimes dangerous interactions through traditional mental health avenues.

is a peer support and crisis hotline run by Trans people for the Trans, Nonbinary, Agender, and Questioning community.

Wildflower Alliance Peer Support Line   (888) 407-4515

Is a peer support line answered by a trained peer supporter who has their own first-hand experience with psychiatric diagnosis, trauma, addiction, and/or other interrupting challenges. This line does not collect personal information, perform assessment, or call crisis or the police.
